About The Role

We are seeking a detail-focused technical drafter with CAD experience to develop precise drawings and models for temporary engineered structures and custom installations. This role involves transforming design concepts into clear, buildable documents while collaborating closely with design staff, project managers, and fabrication teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D layouts, annotated drawings, and part lists for custom structures and effects.
• Generate scaled construction documents and digital models using Vectorworks, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
• Work with design staff to detail components such as mechanical assemblies, structural elements, and integrated effects.
• Coordinate with project managers, rental staff, and fabrication leads to prepare models and layouts that guide production.
• Develop precise panel layouts for soft goods fabrication, ensuring approvals before manufacturing.
• Collaborate with carpentry and metalworking shops to confirm technical details prior to build.
• Manage assigned drafting tasks and support design projects as needed.

Required Skills & Background

• At least 2 years of drafting or design experience.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, SolidWorks) plus familiarity with Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and diagrams.
• Understanding of design fundamentals such as layering systems, annotation, fonts, and layout organization.
• Knowledge of temporary structures, mechanics, or set construction methods.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
• Team-oriented, creative problem-solver with ability to calculate material and equipment needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, technical production, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
• Experience preparing files for CNC cutting, including layout optimization and tool pathing.
