COSCO SHIPPING BULK (North America) Inc. is seeking a Senior Chartering Manager to join their Bulk team in Secaucus, NJ.

This role would play a critical role in supporting day-to-day operations of the charting team, especially under the growing demand for precise cargo coordination and vessel scheduling.

  • Assist in booking dry bulk cargoes and preparing chartering contracts under supervision, helping to fulfill the company’s production and performance targets.
  • Support the circulation of dry bulk vessel opening information and follow up with counterparties along assigned negotiation channels.
  • Assist in matching booked dry bulk cargoes with suitable vessels, monitor changes or deviations, and track project progress in coordination with the planning department.
  • Collect and summarize information related to global dry bulk cargo movements, vessel availability, shipping markets, and port conditions, contributing to internal analysis and planning.
  • Monitor key dry bulk shipping company activity, charterer requirements, credit standing, and industry trends to assist in risk assessment of potential contracts.
  • Assist in drafting and adjusting voyage planning proposals and business cases under the direction of senior staff.
  • Support charter-in activity in case of vessel shortage, including market research and broker coordination specific to the dry bulk sector.
  • Track vessel movement and voyage status; help resolve issues within authorized limits and escalate when beyond authority.
  • Assist in maintaining chartering documentation and reports, and help coordinate between chartering, operations, and documentation teams.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by senior chartering personnel or management.

Requirement:

  • Prior experience in dry bulk shipping/chartering is required.
